Navigating parenting after separation or divorce can be incredibly challenging—emotionally, practically, and relationally. Family Transitions Triple P is a supportive five-session program designed for parents experiencing personal distress related to the end of a relationship, particularly when that distress is affecting their ability to parent effectively.
Offered prior to the Level 4 Group or Standard Triple P programs, this workshop equips parents with practical tools to adjust to single-parent family life. It focuses on managing conflict with former partners, reducing stress, and strengthening co-parenting dynamics, while also emphasizing emotional well-being and self-care.
This program benefits parents who:
- Are going through or have gone through a separation or divorce
- Are dealing with unresolved conflicts or poor communication with a former partner
- Are concerned that the separation/divorce is upsetting their children
- Want to learn how to support their children emotionally and behaviorally through the transition
- Have additional concerns about their child’s behavior
What Is Covered in the Sessions?
Session 1: Divorce – A Family Transition
- Understanding common parenting traps during separation/divorce
- How to talk to children about separation/divorce
- Helping children manage their emotions
Session 2: Coping With Emotions (Part 1)
- Identifying unhelpful emotions such as stress, anxiety, and anger
- Exploring how these emotions affect parenting
- Learning coping and relaxation strategies
Session 3: Coping With Emotions (Part 2)
- Understanding how thoughts influence emotions
- Challenging automatic unhelpful thoughts
- Self-care and advanced coping techniques
Session 4: Managing Conflict
- Conflict models and response styles
- Assertive communication skills
- Holding child-related discussions with a former partner
- Problem-solving techniques
- Developing a parenting plan
Session 5: Balancing Work, Family, and Play
- Creating a new family identity
- Building social support
- Exploring new romantic relationships
Course Features:
- Included 2 one-on-one private counseling sessions with an International Parent Practitioner
- Receive additional Community resources and services.
Five Month Schedule:
When: 5 Sessions begin Friday, June 6 at 2 – 3 PM EDT with 4 more sessions taking place every first friday of the month, until Friday October 3.

RECE, Parent Practitioner, Parent Coordinator, Family Mediator, Child Voice Practitioner, and Collaborative Family Law Parent Expert Rose Morsh is the founder of InventiveMinds Child, Youth, and Family Support Centre, a not-for-profit organization that is licensed under the Ministry of Education and registered with IACP, OACP, and IB.
Inventiveminds provides Family Law Mediation Services, I.B. International School, Early Years Childcare (Montessori), Parent and Youth Support Therapy, and community services for new moms. Parenting courses related to children include Aid Services and Mediation, Separation, and Divorce.
